Mombasa

Pamoja's work in Mombasa is focused at present in a slum area called Mkomani. Rev. Gilbert Kiima is the Mombasa co-ordinator. Gilbert has recently completed Theological training in Nairobi which Pamoja helped to fund.

Pamoja helped build a small nursery classroom next to the church in 1998. The children who attend have porridge each day as they are all from poverty stricken families. Pamoja runs an education sponsorship scheme in this area so that even children from very poor families can go to school. When there are periods of drought Pamoja has run a feeding programme.

The Future

The church in Mombasa would like to rebuild the nursery school. Pamoja is working toward achieving this.
